5 Tablescapes you need in your life

If you’re like me, the first thing I do when I get home from work is set my keys and purse on the table, take off my jacket and hang it up (I’m sure that won’t be for much longer with this heat) and get ready for dinner. I love coming home to a welcoming home with a happily decorated table. Call me crazy but it’s the little things. I also love switching up my décor on the kitchen table or coffee table. Here are some fresh ways to make your table shine and look super cozy.

1. Candles. Show me the candles! What is more relaxing than seeing a candle? They smell nice, give you a spa-like feeling, and are a great stress releaser. They also come in many shapes and sizes. My love for candles started at a young age. I used to burn candles in my bedroom on the window sill. In fact, I almost burnt the house down one time because I didn’t raise the blinds high enough over a burning candle. Oddly enough I married a firefighter. Funny, right? And he loves candles more than me.

2. Hurricanes or Sconces. I don’t know what it is, but hurricanes and sconces have a sense of elegance and coastal feel which reminds me of vacation. You can also put pretty much anything you’d like in either of them. The possibilities are endless! Sand, rocks, moss, flowers, shells, ornaments, Easter eggs, pumpkins, etc. They are so much fun!

3. Tray or small crate. Is it just me or can you never have too many trays? For real. I have lost count of how many I have. They serve as a great anchor to put a ton of items on. And they make things look so organized and tidy! They turn a hot mess into hotness! They’re just like accessories. Group a couple of your favorite items together to be placed on a tray. It could be a small sign, a candle, a picture frame, or a pineapple or bird to greet you everyday.

4. Greenery! You really can’t go wrong with greenery because nature is meant to be brought inside. A really pretty floral arrangement can really go a long way! Or even greenery like boxwood, eucalyptus leaves, or lambs ear can make your home so calming. And you also look like you have a green thumb. Double win.

5. Last but not least….. a collection of items that bring you joy at the time of the season. I’ve really gotten into flowers, lanterns, shutters, and corbels. Make your space a showstopper and be creative. Maybe you have a thing for baskets or stamped books. Or you have some really elaborate placemats, napkins, and napkins rings you’d like to dress up the table with. Or, a solid collection of vases. Take a candle or a vase you may have in another room and place it on the table. What’s crazy is you notice the item more once it’s in the middle of the table.

I hope these tips gave many variations of how to create a tablescape!
